Joints EP

Joints is a new EP from Spesh K & MLNY. The project was birthed some years back when MLNY moved to Toronto. He was spending a lot of time at Big Spesh’s House hanging out, and would always bring new beats over. Over time Spesh and his close company of artists would start to record songs on these beats but many of the songs were left incomplete so MLNY decided to come in and fill in the blanks. Soon after, life took a change for both Spesh and MLNY, leaving both of them no longer primarily focused on making music for quite some time. Fast forward to 2020. Coronavirus pandemic hits, leaving many artists unsure of what to do next. With studios being closed and videographers not wanting to risk their health, MLNY was left with a plan for the year that now had to be postponed and shifted, so he decided to dig up the old sessions, dust them off, clean them up and get them finished. After Spesh gave the green light, MLNY spent countless hours reproducing beats, cleaning up old beats, mixing and mastering the songs, and filling any blanks with the Breaking Wreckords team and the result of which is what you have here, the Joints EP. A collection of updated material that MLNY & Spesh had worked on for years, the EP still has a transparent ability to sound up to date, even with an out of date boom-bap aesthetic throughout the whole project. I hope you enjoy the music as much as we enjoyed creating it and putting it together for y’all. There is A LOT of new music on the way. This is just the introduction.
