Bio:

Canadian hip-hop is in a state where long-time followers believe it’s dying. There are a lot of new up and coming artists looking to uplift this cultures reputation. “Daxflow” is a firm believer that if you believe in yourself it will make other people believe in you too, and it all starts with doing your best to keep it real. If he had to sum up this game of rap, he would put in into simple words: “You’ve got to respect yourself before gaining the respect of those around you”. As a child, Jasen’s oldest brother exposed him to a lot of hip-hop from the 1980’s. Some of the main records that were spinning in his house were early albums from Big Daddy Kane, Erick B. and Rakim, EPMD, LL Cool J, and Grand Master Flash just to name a few. It’s safe to say that Jasen had hip-hop being pumped into his veins from a very young age; his style was in the beginning stages development before he spit his first verse. Jasen would constantly find himself sneaking into his brother’s record collection, and started to listen to a lot more music around the 1992-1994 years where he thought hip-hop was at its best. “I think that after 1998 hiphop music started to fall off a bit with the exception of certain artists that were still holding it down”. Jasen started his own music venture when he was in about grade 11; it all started out with freestyling in the hallways after school. Jasen had no rap alias at this time, and he would make up songs out of his head on the daily, but still didn’t know how to write one. A couple of his close friends encouraged him to start writing things down on paper in his later years of high school. He claims he jotted some things down but never came u with a full verse so he just stuck to freestyling.
