Biography
Hailing from Central Islip, N.Y., Fish Grease, born Darrell Murray, was inspired by the purest and most original mc’s such as Rakim, EPMD, (and his older brother) Keith Murray, Redman, and Nas. His futuristic flow and ingenious wordplay is what make onlookers say he is quintessential.Fish Grease landed his first record deal at 16 years old when he walked into an Indianapolis, Indiana recording studio and battled the lead act with his eyes closed.He was then signed to that same Indie Record Label.Fish Grease is featured on the movie “Bullethead’s” soundtrack, which was released in 2000 on a song titled. “Better Than You.”His features also include recording artist, Keith Murray’s “Rap-Murr-Phobia” album released in 2008 on the song titled, “We Ridin.”Fish Grease has been featured on Erick Sermon’s mixtape “Breath Of Fresh Air” mixtape (Whiskey and Coke) as well as Erick Sermon’s album”ESP” (Culture) He’s also been featured in “Murder Dog”, “XXL”,and “The Source” Magazines.Fish Grease intends to use hip-hop as a vehicle down the industry’s highway to T.V./Films, Charitable Organizations, and Amputee Empowerment!
